Red blood cell magnesium is the most accurate, but ignore the lab values, anything below 6 is deficient.

Blood test-magnesium RBC. Should ideally be above 6.

I just checked dc records. Recently had magnesium level checked and it says 1.9 but it is within normal range according to this lab, are you saying it works differently? And what would symptoms of low magnesium be?

Was it magnesium rbc?
Adequate magnesium promotes better sleep, better nervous system regulation, better circulation, lessened anxiety, improved digestion and elimination, help the immune system. I'm sure there's plenty more...
