What about Arizona ?
Gonna start a new thread ….

Never been but need ideas for places to stay

Arizona is not a beach state so you probably won't see that much pritzus, especially if you stay near the frum area's. You can rent a house with a private pool in Casa Grande or Scottsdale.

You spend a lot more time traveling , so your 4 days will be more like 2 days of rest .

You seem to know a lot about Scottsdale so I assume you live there:)
Thank you for all your posts!

We are headed there this weekend, the weather seems to be in the mid to low 60s.

Wondering what to pack for my kids 1-5.. short sleeves? Shorts? Is it swimming weather?
Thank you so much!!

The locals say they wear light jackets during the day. They were laughing that I thought to bring spring clothing. They said that they would never entertain the thought of swimming now but they said the tri-state peeps all go swimming in the heated pools. If you are going to sedona, and especially grand canyon, bundle up, there can be snow there in January

Here's what I'd recommend for a couple:

Heard Museum (Native American artifacts)
Musical Instrument Museum (if you're into music)
Taliesin West (very cool house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright)
Dreamy Draw Park (Easy hiking in beautiful desert terrain)
Piestewa Peak (Challenging hike)
Camelback Mountain (Even more challenging hike)
Dolly Steamboat on Canyon Lake (Beautiful experience for a couple)
Boyce Thompson Arboretum (Fantastic desert garden and landscape to walk through)

I actually don't live there, but I have spent quite a lot of time in that region Smile
It's not ideal swimming weather. But if you have a heated pool and it's a sunny day, it's not too bad. The southwest is in a bit of a cold spell right now, and it gets cold at night. Definitely bring layers.

Here's what I'd recommend for younger kids -
Children's Museum
Kids Empire
Hall of Flame Museum
Dreamy Draw Park
Castles n Coasters
Desert Botanic Garden / Phoenix Zoo

Butterfly Wonderland is a large, open structure where you can walk through and be surrounded by thousands of butterflies and unique plants. It's a great, fun activity, but it can get a bit crowded at times.
