As opposed to geribben... cynical... tough....

For a very very smart boy, needs to be challenged intellectually, but needs a place he won't get teased for being a little different (not specifying to maintain privacy).

Any smart ladies here have ideas?

Yeshiva Toras Chaim - 'R Slomowitz's yeshiva - is a very high level mesivta with a huge mix of boys (chassidish, litvish, etc.). IME, because there is a big mix of types, the boys are not as judgmental. Not saying that every boy is nice but overall they are more accepting.

It seems you're talking about a Chassidishe boy from the language.
I know of a few places but they're mostly Litvish with a handful of chassidim.
You can pm me

I’m applying to mesivtas now for my son. Can I ask what you mean by this?

I send here.
I agree. Nice, good, aidel boys.
However if the boy is very, very bright and needs to be challenged academically, it might not be for him. It's a good place but not for geniuses.

I have a nephew in Lakewood mesivta. He is Heimish/Chassidish-lite. He's a really nice boy, and very bright B"AH. I think they drove him nuts at his farher, trying to trip him up to the extent that he thought he blew it...and then accepted him.

He seems very happy, and he's also a really nice refined boy. If the rest of the yeshiva is like him, I'd say it's a good place.

I have a relative who fits this profile and did very well at Lakewood mesivta. Super bright kid and intense learner who didn’t understand social nuances. The other boys respected him for who he was.

Not Chassidish at all. I sound Chassidish? Because I'm not sure what I mean by gerriben?

True, but if good, nice boys is a priority, it's an excellent option.

Ok sorry. Honestly I've never heard non-Chassidim use that expression.

Mesivtas that have a name as being most challenging, brightest, etc.

Keren Hatorah
Slomowitz
Mintz
Sherwinter
Mesivta of Lakewood
Pruzansky - they have a name of doing more bekiyus
Cohen's (R Doniel Cohen)- also has English

NaturalMom is correct that Slomowitz has a name of being a very "in the box" place so I'm not sure how "different" would be accepted.

Keren has quirky and different and it's very intense

Mesivta of Lakewood has a nice Chassidishe group, largest Mesivta with at least 2 classes per shiur. The least downtime. Meaning fewer off shabbosim.

Pruzansky has a different learning hashkafa than other Mesivta and they do accept and work with "different" but not all boys enjoy their type of learning.

Sherwinters might be a little less intense and overtly genius. But nice boys

Mintz, I don't know much about but I know it is for bright boys.

I will say that all these Mesivtas have very large classes 34-44.
