If you move to Brooklyn in the marine park area it’s a very quiet suburban feel. People are very friendly and kind and you should be able to get a decent apartment for about $2000 a month or maybe less. I would have you over for Shabbos meals. And I will definitely let your children attend my programs for free. And my programs really help children in many ways. And you can send your special needs children to public schools wirh other frum special needs children.

ETA fun fact: I have experience in medical research, both in practice and interpretation/implementation of findings. |
I'm super glad I posted it.
(there definitely should be some equivalency certification for practical medical experience)

Thanks! By practice, I meant that I was on research teams in college and grad school, not that I had the illnesses we were studying (thank GOD!) or need the interventions being developed. But I know how to be a proper consumer of research and interpret scientific studies. I could do this! :-)
(Come on, I've got to cheer myself on... right?)

Any idea which company or which types of companies are using this recruitment service? Are these Jewish companies or just random job postings?

Even a family from a different state moved there for that |
I grew up here. I graduated from Beachwood. I'm well aware. I'm doing my best to make it work. If I can survive the short term issues, which seem insurmountable, it'll be my best option most likely. The biggest issue is establishing a permanent residence in Beachwood and being able to financially swing it. Yes there is health care and a lot of chesed here, but there are still big hurdles. I need to somehow buy a house.

The majority of the job postings appear to be for Jewish companies but I don't know if that's a certainty. Candibots does seem to be owned by yidden...

I have significant medical challenges and currently don’t drive, although I hope that will change in the near future. I have no money and no job right now, but I’m excellent at what I do (writing and editing) and intend to freelance from home as I did prior to my Aliyah attempt.
Please tell me how much I would need to budget for rent or how much a small house would go for, if you can. I’m going to assume that unless the area has school vouchers, I’m sending to public school. I really have no money, and I need to prioritize housing. |
You can get a job working with people with special needs since you already have experience in that field being that you have two kids with special needs. The best would be in NY since there are many agencies and you would be able to work doing day hab while your kids are in school. NY also offers the best care for kids with special needs so that would def be worth it. And you can apply for medicaid, food stamps, and other benefits for immediate assistance. Plus, you dont need a car to get around so that is def a benefit.
The best organization to reach out to would be sister to sister since they can offer you lots of guidance if you do want to live in NY-- https://sistertosisternetwork......yId=4
My extended family is another organization in NY that offers assistance-- https://www.myef.org/
If you are escaping domestic violence, you would also qualify for services. There are lots of agencies in NY that help with the situation you deal with and may be able to help you settle somewhere safe (and provide shelter and other services if need be).

Scroll down to NYC area for resources in NYC-- https://www.nyscadv.org/find-h......html
Because of your own medical needs, your kids with special needs and you fleeing from a domestic violence situation, you may be able to apply for Section 8 or housing vouchers in NY. Here are several websites you can look into to see if its applicable to you:
https://www.thehotline.org/
https://newdestinyhousing.org/
https://www.nyc.gov/site/nycha......page
https://hcr.ny.gov/ehv
https://propertyclub.nyc/artic.....ately
https://thesafecenterli.org/cl.....onal/
https://www.justice.gov/ovw/bl.....ovide
https://www.hud.gov/ehv
You can also look for all these resources in whichever state or city you are in. If you need help then let us know where you are located and we will try to find these resources in your location.

I'm trying my hand at staying in Cleveland. Unfortunately rentals are not a good option. Better to purchase. Once my husband gets back to the US we'll deal with the fact that the money is in an account I can't access (don't get me started), but once I have a job, I should be able to purchase a small house. There's one I'm interested in, but need to find out more. Then again, it'll likely be gone by the time I'm able to qualify. I have awesome credit, but I need enough length of time of consistent income (AKA not freelance) to qualify, per the mortgage broker I spoke with.

I won't be able to put down the full 20% to avoid PMI, but I might be able to scrape by and make a purchase somehow, and then the monthly payments are less than rentals. I've been souring my options. Plus, rentals go up... I need something stable. I need to build a warm, stable home for my kids. I'm not dead yet. I can still try.

Since you money that will become available in the foreseeable future, is there a free loan available in the Jewish community there? That should help with the down payment. Then your concern is the mortgage.
