I just don’t engage. As soon as I realize it’s a tzedaka call I say thank you for calling I can’t help right not and I hang up. I don’t even wait for them to stop talking I just interrupt and don’t wait for an answer. Then I block the number. It’s an option on my cell phone and my house phone and is very helpful although many call back from a different number.
