Never got a lace top before but the ones I tried on had these little short hairs on top which stick straight up in static or when not brushed down well. She said its called the return of the hairs. And that all lace tops have them? How do they not annoy you or stick straight up and not look messy?

So what happens when they don't lay flat? You walk around looking like an electric shock? Is it hard to get them to lay flat and hidden?
Also do lace front wigs have the same issue or only lace tops?

Hairspray? I don't have one so I don't know but that's how they're sewn.
Lace fronts are less of an issue since it's only the front inch or so that has those returns.

My lace top has these hairs but it's never been a problem. If u look really close u may see them but it stays flat and looks fine IMO

Do silk top wigs with baby hair have the same issue?

Any other opinions? I guess I'm getting desperate because she said that all lace tops are like this. Do I keep looking or just go with hers even though I know all those little short hairs will drive me crazy.

My lace tops have them. It’s literally how lace tops are constructed. Doesn’t bother me at all and never has.
