I see various sites that you can use to upload your custom items, but I'd rather download a template, e.g. Excel, and have everything on my own computer.
How would I know if I can trust the download? Do I just assume my virus software will protect me?

Are you familiar with Excel? You could just make a simple table of 5x5 Plus column heads, set a border around each cell, fill in the center square with free space, and then fill in from there.
How many different ones do you need?
I am guessing you don't want numbers... Depending on the version of Excel you have you'll use a random function to fill in the blocks, if you don't want to do it manually.

I wanted to have a list of family members, and generate random cards.
I know how to use many Excel formulae, but I've never used a random generator, as far as I can recall. I guess I could have the people in a table and reference it randomly.
