If you have it, was it worth getting? what do you grow on it and how long does it take? How much space does it take up?

Its amazing. Within a few days there was visible growth. Two weeks later, the herbs (we had basil) were already edible. Tomatoes takes several weeks longer. We also grew lettuce, edible after 4-6 weeks.
Tastes amazing and my kids love checking in every day to see how much the plants grew as there is visible growth dayly.

Is it cheaper to just buy the vegetables? Did you buy it as an educational fun things for your kids to do or because you wanted organic vegetables or because it's cheaper?

I have a different indoor garden. It's not cheaper than regular vegetables, but it's cheaper than pre-checked, and while you do have to check it, you're a lot less likely to have to throw it away.

Why do you have to check it if it's grown indoors?

Because some critters are smart enough to come in from the cold!

orange, do you have bugs in the house because of it? I thought the whole point of hydroponics was that there would be no bugs?

I find that winter is great in terms of bugs. I do check the leaves but so far there wasn't a single bug. I can imagine though that in the summer there will be bugs comming in from the outside.
We keep it in the kitchen. Our family eats a lot of vegetables, so this is just to supplement and for fun. And the herbs taste amazing.

If you don't keep your doors open, why would bugs come in. I don't understand.

Have you never left a half an apple on the counter for a few days by mistake?
