Ari is a real name- as in gibor k’ari

You got lots of good suggestions. I'll add Boaz - literally, "strength is in him."
Eli will be pronounced Ee-lie rather than Eh-lee by people who don't know Hebrew. Do you care?
Yoni is Sanskrit for "the source" - female reproductive organs. Outside of Jewish circles, people snicker.

Curious if you know anyone with a given name of "Ari" ?
But anyway, it seems op is starting with finding a name or nickname and working from there.
Like others, I'd love to know what makes a name "strong".

Only those who know Sanskrit. How many is that? And how many are you likely to encounter (I'd venture that many are linguists living in India)?

I don’t know Sanskrit and I knew that. It’s fairly well known in the non frum world, people (even without Indian origins) use it in everyday speech to refer to their private parts. I actually didn’t know it was Sanskrit but just like I’ve seen people say vajayjay or other euphemisms, I’ve seen people say Yoni. There are a million ways people refer to that area and it’s another one that is less rare than you think.

You got many good suggestions.
In my experience, some are not too easy to pronounce in the US -
for example, Betzalel, Zvi, and Dov.

OP here - thank you all for the great suggestions so far!
To clarify what I meant by "strong", I now realize that it is a somewhat subjective idea.
I just find myself really connecting to names of powerful Torah figures (Avi, Ezra...) and names with strong meanings (aka Ari /Aryeh (lion)).
But still open to any suggestions that are easy to pronounce (no "ch" etc).
