evaluated for speech, but didn't qualify for speech
this was at age 3 like exactly. now it's half a year (and months in school) later and I feel like there's something up with this kid in general. like it can't JUST be speech. developmentally things just aren't on par for being 3.5 but it took time for me to realize that...
Fyi they have literal percentage delayed cutoffs. And the threshold for delay in one area is much higher than the threshold for delay in 2 areas. CPSE is not really the age level where you need to fight the city; I'd trust the evaluator (from YVY) did their job and bh you kid was less than a full year delayed.
That said, find out how much he was delayed. Because of you ask for evaluations in other areas and he has a lesser delay, but across multiple areas, his chance of qualifying for services is greater.
