for 2 floors above ground. eta, I just realized we have no heat in the basement but it's sort of warm because the boiler is there.

Also how many sq ft is your house? and where do you live? eta and what temperature do you keep it on?

eta not basement only 2 floors.

3600 sq ft in maryland where heat costs are very high. We pay $250-$300 per month for gas (heat and cooktop range) we are very careful with opening doors etc and keep the temp between 68 and 70

It would be helpful to know what temperature you keep it on and how many sq foot is your house. I was very surprised when we got the latest heating bill, it was very high and we don't have a huge house, about 2800-2900 sq ft. Our bill was $750.

Do you live in the NYC metro area? Last month's bill included the cold snap where it was very cold for about 3 days. Also the natural gas price n my area is about 50% higher than last year. So my bill was significantly higher than last year's comparable bill of late Dec/early Jan.

Baltimore, 2500 foot house, last month’s bill was $650. Gas/water heat. 650 is gas and electric. Can’t imagine what electric heat or forced air heat bill would be. Our heat is very uniform and I like it better than forced air. And a pump is horrible both for heat and it’s expensive.
ETA last month included very very cold snap

5000 square feet. Baltimore. All electric, no gas in this house. Last month was 850 and included that super cold Chanukah weekend. Usually it’s more like 5-600 in the peak season.

Jackson 2500 sq ft. Heat is usually on 68-70. Our bulls were 250 last month and 261 this month. I'm conscious about turning it down when I leave the house or at night on the main floor.

Not gonna vote and skew the results. We only have electricity in our house. Small 1200 square foot house.
In the summer it’s about $200 because we don’t have ac and don’t use heat.
In the winter it’s $500-800 and we use our fireplace daily, as well.
Yes, I live in the most expensive city in the most expensive state. Be grateful for what you have!!

3600 sq feet, 2 floors around 150/month during the highest months. Lakewood. My kids touch the thermostat all day so anywhere from 68-72⁰

How do people pay $500/month just for gas?? Goodness, what does your electric bill look like in the summer?

Upstate NY, 2500+ sq ft old and drafty house with 2.5 floors.
Thermostat is set on about 72 all the time. There are people home all day.
Actual charges for last month were about $450, but we do budget billing so paying $125 a month year round.

Probably averages around 125-150 per month over 12 months.

Closer to 250-300 in heating months.

Estimating because my bill is combined gas/electric.

Brooklyn semi detached 2,000 sq ft separate upstairs and downstairs thermostats on 69-70 half the day and 65 half the day and bill this month was $455! Last year same usage and was $100 less

I'm talking about the rates not of delivery but the actual price of the gas, which the gas company insists they do not profit from.
