At 1. I switch to regular 2 piece pjs (so much easier to get on) and outfits (tops and leggings, romper for weekday, bubbles and nice 2 pieces for Shabbos)

We stop doing one piece pj type outfits once they're crawling, but I do a snapped shirt with leggings/shorts until they hit size 2t or are ready to toilet train, whichever comes first. (Although we go cute shabbos dresses/ outfitsonce they're walking)

By age 1 I do two pieces. Leggings and T-shirt type. I find diaper changing easier. I don’t want to deal with the snaps longer than I have to.

I also switch over at about 6 months. My kids at that age are standing holding on, cruising, and need the grip on the bottom of the their feet. If it's winter, I'll add socks and Robbez style shoes.
That's besides that changing their diaper and getting them back into a stretchie/onesie at that very active age is more challenging than shoving their legs into leggings.

Your kids cruise at 6 months? Wow they’re early developers! Mine are late developers which I personally love.

Might depend on their diapers. Onesies with a leaky diaper are a headache even though the look with pants is neater

My baby was also crawling at 5 months. When I switched him to 6-9 months clothing a little after that, it just made more sense to do pants and shirt with what I call a onesie (snapped undershirt/bodysuit) underneath as he was starting to pull himself up and needed his feet bare or with socks and robeez. Footed sleepers are just for sleeping, BH the 12 month ones have a little grip but until he was in that size, many were just not conducive to his activities. So I guess I just do the one piece stretchies as outfits until around 6 months.

My baby only wears those in the night now.
First of all they pull up and walk at this age and footies are slippery.
So they are mostly vertical and look good in outfits and soft shoes
Secondly, it is a sign of a night time routine for us to wear thrm by night and an outfit by day

I stop at 6-9 months. Anything footed or onesie. At that age, I do dresses for girls (with tights or leggings underneath) and shirt/pants for boys.

Someone told me that when toilet training it’s easier for the kid to wear a onesie. The skirt and shirt and tzitzis get pulled up and the onesie gets snapped over the shoulder. Nothing falls into the toilet or is in the way. Much easier this way!

I still put on a onesie (footie) on my baby Friday night.
To the poster who said you can't get Shabbosdig ones, you probably don't shop in Jewish stores? They have footies that are very Shabbosdig and I think it looks so much neater. And he's already 14 months. It's like a robe, but in a onesie for a baby/toddler.

I find separates to be easier. My almost 2 year old can hold her dress up or pull her pajama pants down on her own already. If she were wearing a onesie, I would need to take her every time.

We do shabbos footsies Friday night as long as they're sleeping in footies
