I had a baby within the last week bh and she is not my first. With my others, if they were fed, burped, clean, and swaddled, I would generally be able to put them into the bassinet to relax and sleep. Not this one! She only wants to be held…I can settle her in my arms, and every time I transfer her she wakes up crying within a few minutes.

I know it’s within the realm of normal, but I am so tired! How do I get her to sleep out of my arms?? I’m getting desperate!

(She would happily sleep in her car seat but I am not comfortable with that safety wise)

Buy a baby carrier. Then your hands will be free. Some babies need to be held a lot.

Put baby on stomach and see what happens. Of course, without being swaddled. Keep an eye on your child. Put your baby's head gently to the side.

Do you swaddle?

Baby carrier will help for the day, but I really need night ideas.
Yes I swaddle…worked for my other kids but not this one!
I am tempted to put her in her stomach but I think I want to wait until she has a bit of head control. She’s still so young so I’m not ready yet.

I used a baby swing for at night. Otherwise she wouldn't sleep in the beginning.

Safety wise how does that compare to a car seat? She also likes her bouncer seat, is that safe? Basically she wants to be curled up not flat!

It’s not safe at all.

My baby (who is 3 weeks old now) will sometimes go down in the car seat or swing, but often not even those work for her. The doctor said he's okay with her sleeping in the swing, but not in my arms while I am sleeping.

I was actually wondering abt that. I’ll ask my pediatrician which he is more comfortable with.

Cosleeping is also considered unsafe for young infants though!
