I can't tell you what to do, but many non-dairy milks are not nutritionally equivalent to dairy so if your kids really drink milk, switching is a big issue. Most don't have enough protein, and many non-dairy milks are more expensive than regular.
Plant butter where I am is more expensive than dairy butter and some rabbonim hold that for butter specifically it doesn't need to be CY.
If it's just to save a bit of money, I don't know that I would (although I don't keep CY). But if my kids' nutrition would be affected because they really eat a lot of dairy products and I couldn't afford to buy them otherwise then I would switch.
