I think it's more of a "till what age" question than a "what gender" question.

Depends how you do it. Cute headband, black shirt, yellow and black tutu, black n yellow striped tights, could easily go for a 12 year old

IMHO
If the boy is 5 - dress him like the bee keeper and the rest boy or girl younger as bees
If the 5 is girl they can all be bees

I would ask my kid. It's a special day for them. If he minds I would skip it and if he's ok with it then why not.

This. This new trend of themes is depriving the kids the joy of dressing up as per their dreams.

We're taking away simple childhood pleasures just for the sake of some attention.

If my son wants to be a be I would let him, no matter what age.

(Usually as boys get older they prefer to wear other costumes but if my son wanted to be a bee, why not? It’s his bzzzz ness not mine!)
