Baby fell while drinking from straw sippy cup and gum was bleeding right where top front tooth was about to make it's appearance
I'm so nervous that maybe tooth got damaged
Is that possible? Is there anything I can do?
Right before I thought I had seen a bit of white and now I see a brown little scab and I don't think I see white anymore but maybe there wasn't white to begin with and I was imagining
I'm so so nervous
It was really not much blood
Please help me calm down and/ or give me practical advice

I had this with an erupted baby tooth. Was bleeding all around the tooth. Was very nervous, Sent a pic to Dr Danziger’s “ask the dentist” WhatsApp and he said it was fine. Said usually no treatment done for traumatized baby teeth and as long as tooth wasn’t hit in a way that severed the nerve you just leave it.

I’m no expert but if the straw was plastic, I can’t imagine there’d be lasting damage. Teeth are much stronger than plastic. If he smashed his tooth against something hard, like a stone floor, then I’d be concerned. The brown which is probably dried blood or the start of a scab is probably covering whatever you may have seen prior.

I’m not a dentist, but if he(she?) hit his gums, it’s possible that it’s a little enflamed and that’s why you don’t see the little white tooth anymore.
