I havent made it in ages and I forgot how to.
I know I saute a onion first.
and I blend abit of the peas when ready to thicken the soup.
do you also sautee the peas first?
how much water do you add to how much peas?

I’ve never heard of pea soup not with split peas. What do you use, frozen peas?

There's pea soup either with fresh or frozen peas and also the version with dried peas, either split or whole.
If using dried peas the best is to soak them overnight or 24 hours. They cook faster.

Or take one can of peas and one can of peas and carrots. Dump both cans into a pot, add spices and blend with immersion blender when hot. Serve. Quick and easy. The only spice you really have to add is pepper…the canned vegetables come with salt and usually sugar unless you look carefully to avoid it.
