If you live in Monsey and your children are eligible to get insurance through the marketplace, what insurance would u chose?
I'm a little confused. While I would love my children to get braces, in order to do that, I would have to switch to united Healthcare. But that's the only thing UnitedHealthcare is good for: no pediatrician accepts it, regular dentists also not....nobody has any major health issue, but every once in a while someone needs a specialist.
I'm not sure what to do....
I can't afford braces. And to switch insurances and pay out of pocket for everything else that might come up sounds crazy.
Any thoughts?

I think there is a shtick that you can do by enrolling in UHC, start with the braces and switch to fidelis, they have to cover it as continuation of care.
I heard about this a while ago, so please verify. You can call the orthodontist for more info, they can guide you.
Good luck

There are several orthodentist in monsey who accept fidelis. Although it is hard to get approved on fidelis. I took my dd to 3 different orthodentists, 3 years in a row until she was finally approved.
We were with UHC at one point and it was such a pain because most practitioners around here will take fidelis but not UHC.
So maybe it makes sense for you to start on UHC and then switch. It is very easy to switch btw, and the switch takes effect the first day of the following month.
