I work in a very small kindergarten setting of 4-5 year olds. My own child is part of the group and he has trouble making friends, approaching other kids. He shares his toys with others, but comes crying to me hepless when another kid grabs away a toy. He's an only child. He also doesn't have many opportunities to play dates.

Anyone have a book with recommendations how to slowly teach my son social skills. Perhaps a book divided into units? I would like to teach him social skills. And also work on it in a group setting.

Also if anyone know or could provide example how to help my child with conflicts, and help him out in the situations above.

I read your post and was about to leave without replying because I don't know anything geared to that age group.

Don't take this the wrong way. I mean it in the kindest way. Really.

For some reason, it struck me that this might be coming from you. It's possible if you work on yourself, strengthening your identity, and separating from him, these things might improve on their own. Does that resonate at all?

It's been a while since I've looked at some of these--- my kids are teens now (she also has a lot for teens, btw)---- so some of it may be above his age group but some of it will be on target.
