He used to be ok with the bath. Suddenly he started hating the bath. He started screaming from when he saw me filling the tub and the whole time he was in there. I feel awful. I've tried getting more toys, talking to him, singing... Nothing helps. He's just crying and crying and I feel like I'm torturing him

Is there anything I can do?

Maybe he doesn't like when water goes in his ears?
Is it possible that he has fluid in his ears?
Is the water the right temperature?
You can give him a bed bath or a bath in the sink.

I had the same.
It starts when they realize that the water is going down the drain, and they are afraid they can fall in there as well.
Try explaining to him that he doesn’t fit in there and that you won’t let the water out while he’s in the bath.

I don't think he has an ear infection his ears don't seem to be bothering him. Also was just at the dr last week when he was already doing this and he was fine. Water is the right temp. I did accidentally put him in the bath one time when the water was too hot do you think he is scarred because of it?

Very interesting! I'm going to try that thank you.

Maybe he's scared from then. The water going down the drain also makes sense, my babies were afraid of the noise. I took them out of the bath before draining the water.

Same. I think it's because mine started realizing that they have will have to lay down in the water and my baby hates that part.

To get him used to it again, get in the bath with him.
You can wear a bathing suit if you’re uncomfortable.

I agree with above posters.

Suggestion: New bath toys, playing with shaving cream

This. Usually a passing stage where they are afraid of the bath. Try to make it through the stage. I hold them in the bath (with me outside the bath fully clothed but getting wet) and make it quick. You can try new toys etc, but in my experience it's a phase. You need to support him/her through the phase and it will pass.
