Just a vent.
I have multiple children with multiple food allergies.
As inflation and all that, so much of the advice how to cut costs is not applicable because of allergies.
Anyone else?

Yes I'm with you!!
Food is costing us way more than we can afford but I can't really cut back. I almost never buy prepared food cuz of allergies. I make almost everything from scratch already. but for the price of 2lb of specialty flour, I can get 10 of regular flour. It's really expensive to have allergies.

Yes! I have one kid with allergies to dairy, fish, egg, chicken- so I need to make beef multiple times a week for her, and it’s not fair if just she gets burgers, so I have to make for everyone!

I have started making her soy yogurt instead of buying it though

Plus the gluten free pretzels etc add up.

Bump.
I'm so frustrated by how expensive my food bills are.
But my kids have nut allergies. And egg allergies. And chickpea allergies. And dairy allergies.
So all cheap dinner ideas, someone's allergic to.
In fact the chicken and chopped meat are the most popular.
But it's so expensive.
And I don't have the money

Hugs. Me too. I try to stretch the meat further by serving it with cheap sides or lots of sauce. I also shop sales. I also remind myself I’m saving money by never buying premade or take out or frozen convenience foods
