Yes! 20 years at top hospital. I used to be 9 to 5 but switched to 8 to 4 about 15 years ago and it’s amazing.

Can you make a decent living from this job. I live in New Jersey and the rate is very low for non clinical type of social workers.

Yes BH the pay is very good and the benefits are even better.

Hospital social workers are considered clinical social workers

In the nj area? All the staring salary’s are about 50,000.
Is there room for growth in the field?

I don’t see myself working for a private practice…

No, I work at the top hospital in NYC. Starting salary is a lot higher (but I’m way past starting)
