My 11-year-old son does not really want to dress up. Last year I made him a shirt that said car dealership since he loves cars with all the car logos in the back and it was a very comfortable costume since it was just a shirt. What other costume can I make that's just a shirt or a cap so that he'll be comfortable?

Amazon has some really cool optical illusion tshirts & sweatshirts. Maybe just order one of those. Here are a few examples (but there are tons of others- I just searched optical illusions on Amazon & these were the first ones):

Arab
Shop in a Muslim store it’s super cool and just a long shirt
Hindu (shop at ethnic store) feels like pajamas)
Or graduation gown wide and flowy
Or leave him alone and let him not dress up

Is it the costume that he finds uncomfortable, or is it the concept of wearing a costume? If he's not going to be happy in it he doesn't have to wear one. It's a fun custom, not halacha Moshe mi Sinai. Maybe he would be happier with just a funny hat.

Why is it so important to you that he dress up?

It's not so important that he dresses up. I just want to have something if he does decide to dress up. He doesn't have anything against really dressing up. He just finds it annoying and uncomfortable. Last year it worked really well with just having a shirt costume. I also make a big party every year and everyone comes in costume so I think you should have something that he can wear.

Thanks for the ideas!
