Hi. DS recently married and DIL birthday coming up soon. I don’t know her very well, but she is a sweet warm happy person. I would like to buy her a gift maybe a fun piece of jewelry.

Can anyone recommend something that might be “ in” or popular. Bonus points if it’s from a national retailer as we don’t live in the same state and I’d like her to be able to exchange or return if she wishes. No real budget, maybe around $300? Thx

I was thinking real gold not fake. Is this what people are wearing? How many do you wear at one time? And I don’t want it to be cheap or fake looking. Thx

You are so sweet! For $300 you probably won't get real. Gold is really pricey. The gemberry has really nice stuff online maybe look and see online and it's free shipping and returns.

Thanks I took a brief look. It looks like it’s all silver and maybe with a gold coating? But their things are also a little bit cheap like around $100.
I really wanna spend more and get her something more substantial. I wouldn’t mind spending a lot more, but I don’t want to come across as “too much“.
If any of you could just post some pictures of what’s in style for 25 year old, I would really appreciate it. I would look at Macy’s or Nordstrom or something like that as well. Just wanna get ideas

The JenK site looks good. So she’s 25 and very petite but does like to wear big gold hoops. Would you mind just putting a few pictures of things that are in for a 25 year old? Sorry to come across so clueless. First DIL!

Don’t want to out myself, but they live in Florida. She’s not super trendy. More kind of out of town.

In Terms of money we have a history of them not wanting to accept gifts that are” too lavish” for whatever reason. That’s why I’m concerned to spend too much. Personally, I would spend 500 but I think that would make them uncomfortable.

Try Costco.com, you can get nice jewelry at better prices. And it's exchangeable and returnable.

Oh you didnt mention that part. If they feel uncomfortable accepting this gift then it might make her uncomfortable...

How about a gift card or money so they can go out to dinner the two of them? Or money so she can choose?

So I thought about sending money as that’s the easiest, but it doesn’t look like there’s any thought put into it. I can certainly send her a check with a beautiful card but I was hoping an actual gift might seem more loving and personal.

Would you feel that your MIL Didn’t put any thought into the gift or would you actually appreciate a check or gift card?

I really appreciate all the time everyone is taking to help me!!
