Does she enjoy reading? My mil got me a magazine subscription ( ami/ mishpacha) for my birthday and I really enjoy it every week! It's a new gift every week ☺️

Do they like eating out?
Then I'd get them a gift certificate to a nice restaurant in their area.
Otherwise a Nordstrom gift card is nice. She can buy expensive makeup if that's her thing or a piece of jewelry or a new outfit.
(Or macys or Bloomingdale's or another nice department store near her)
I'd love to splurge on a new perfume or something like that.

You seem like such a wonderful mother in law and sensitive to her wants.
I agree with the reply, dont get fake van cleef, and you cant get much at tiffany these days for $300. JenK has gorgeous jewelery (real) and some simple peices that are in your price range. I have this and love it:

Its simple and dainty and really pretty in person.

There are many bracelets and other pieces in the 300-500 range. And I believe her store is located in FL so your SIL could exchange in person which is nice.

For bags or jewelry? I’ve noticed young/fashionable girls wearing this bag in different colors.
I’m in Brooklyn, and I’ve found nice jewelry (real and better quality fashion jewelry) at the yellow door or Molly’s. I like seeing and trying on jewelry in person. I’ll see if I see anything cute online.

I got my dil a gift cert at a local gift shop. myself lingerie to be exact. But mainly bec. she went there once for a robe and she said there was so many nice indulgent things she saw there. they sell perfumes , Uggs slippers, etc. .

In Terms of money we have a history of them not wanting to accept gifts that are” too lavish” for whatever reason. That’s why I’m concerned to spend too much. Personally, I would spend 500 but I think that would make them uncomfortable.

I'm not yet a MIL and I'm older than 25, but I looked at the links for fun and I have to be honest, I would be really creeped out if my MIL gave me jewelry like this for a birthday. It's more of a gift from a husband kind of thing to me.

OP, how about a pair of Ugg slippers and a nice Ugg blanket? Or just the slippers?

If she likes to read, I love the idea of a magazine subscription or maybe an audible subscription?
