It’s beyond perfect on me except by one knee it’s a drop too short

Would you add a few inches of white (or some other color) fabric by the slits?

No. Dress is too lightweight to add anything

Ask a seamstress. The crooked hemline makes things tough. I would insert a gusset-like panel in a contrasting color. A narrow ruffle that goes all around the entire hem is also a possibility, but it may make the whole thing look and feel bottom-heavy because the hemline is so voluminous.

Can you wear a skirt made of a similar fabric underneath the dress?

How is a maxi dress too short? It doesn’t cover your knees? How tall Are you?

It’s a midi-maxi. Half of it is maxi length and one spot right by one knee is midi length.

Honestly, I don’t think so.. it’s a loose easy flowey look. It won’t look right if you try to fix it.

Is it worth it for you to buy 2 dresses and add from same fabric a few inches all the way around, so you stay with this shape?

Remember that giving up on it for tznius is a big zchus. It's a sacrafice that you are making- do it with love to Hashem, it's such a big mitzvah to let go of what we want for His wants.

as a seamstress I think you can add a lace trim to the sides only- even if its not completety opaque it will give a longer covered up look

alternately you can take in from the sides a little from thigh down a diagonal line- just to 'erase' the short part

This is a good idea, if you are okay with sacrificing some of the volume in the lower part of the dress.

I don't quite get it, the model is 5' 9" and it's below her knee, are you taller than that?
