What's your budget per MM?
Homemade or storebought?

How do people do things that need refrigeration? It sits out all day. Either on your counter or in someone’s car. I wouldn’t want to work hard on a vegetable soup or a salad or dip etc for it to be thrown out because it was put all day…

Seltzer/soda can, granola bar, nuts/candy wrapped nicely. It's all in the presentation.

I’m asking this seriously. I would love to give something like this but I’m trying to understand the practicalities. I’ve always had this question…

Keep it in your fridge until you give it.in the car all day in March is not such a worry for me. Purim is cold.

Why do you think it's all day long on a counter? You don't have a fridge? Then recipient doesn't have a fridge?
Is Purim in your area blazing hot?
Your cooler box and your ice packs may come in handy if you live in south Florida.

Why do you need to sound so accusatory? It was a simple, innocent question.
I know how Purim looks like in my house. Having it on my mind to keep refrigerating things it’s not even on the agenda… it’s just one more thing to think about.
No I don’t own a cooler. Maybe I live somewhere hot, how do you know?

I have a friend who gives out a lot of shalach manos. She gives the same thing every year. A bag of chips with a taped on lolly. But she's a non-conformist and could not care less to impress anyone. I wish I can be that gutsy.

you could always bake cookies and give those with a drink (can of soda for cheaper, bottle of grape juice for nicer but more expensive) and a fruit, like a small apple or clementine and wrap it in cellophane or go to the dollar store and see what kind of containers or bags they have, sometimes they have nice ones. I like to bake for MM because I always already have sugar, flour, vanilla, eggs etc in my pantry so I dont need to buy, and if you make the cookies mini cookies, they'll stretch farther (and they're super cute!). I have a great simple recipe if you want a recommendation that takes 5 mins to throw together and 9 min to bake.
