My niece works as a secretary at s schol. She's in her 6th year and gets paid £9 an hour.. exploitation to the highest level.
Newbie cleaners who don't speak English are paid nore than that and are working off the books, whereas my niece is working legally.

How old is she?

Yes cleaners have always got more.
Thats how it goes.

Theyr in demand and can charge their own prices.
Whereas I wont just up and leave if they dont raise my wagw.

I work very minimal hours per week. Early years.

Im not the main teacher per se, and dont do any prep at home.
I do prep a little bit at work once a week.

I also dont benefit from the creche because my child is slightly older, plus I dont find the level of care up to standard for him.

I wonder if its reasonable to ask for a good few pounds wage increase in the hope I can get even some of that...

I enjoy the work and the enviroment.

Before this job, I was getting paid even less and work conditios were a lot worse .
I had barely any holidays and whilst I enjoyed the social, I felt very much 'used.'

Here , I feel good but my wage doesnt reflecr my position at all.

Web design

I’m not from here. When I worked in the US I got minimum $30/hr. I can’t afford to work here for others, the pay is ridiculous. Therefore I’m self employed. Most people I know work for themselves.

Anyone can advise me what to ask for in Manchester?.I work in one of the very frum schools.
Not a government school.

Nursery teacher with 10 years experience.
Apparently they count as half of that, because Iv never worked full time, only half day.. ??
I Have NVQ .
Im Over 30.

Im getting at least 12 ph but I feel I deserve at least 15?
Is that unreasonable for such a place?
I personally feel it is a reasonable wage, but I dont know if that is what is given out and If Im beingcompletely off the range to even ask.
Its also my first year working in this school, have previously bwen 5 years somewhere else , and before that another 2 years elsewhere.

I would love to know what others are getting, but I dont feel I can ask.

Thanks.

A year ago, my daughter was getting £12 an hour in London in a Nursery (poss gov funded) No experience, no NVQ, straight out of seminary.

Over £12 is generous as far as I am aware.
I don’t know of any assistant, level 3, getting more than that.
£12 is the max for an assistant in the very frum schools.

If you further your education you can get £15 in a different school.

I work in a government funded Manchester school. As an assistant the pay is between 10 - 12. Main teacher averages at £15.

Thank you so much for the replies!!
Really appreciate it !!

I would like to ask for 15 and hope they meet me somewhere in the middle...?

Its hard to hear that cleaners are going up 10- 12 pounds an hour, when thats nearly my wage.

Im embaressed to speak to my sis in laws in London, they are probably getting nearly double what I get...
When they do holiday playgroups in their house, they charge an arm and a leg, and people PAY!!!

To the amother who wrote about further education, and getting a higher wage in a different school, what do you mean?

I really appreciate the honesty on this thread, thank you fellow Mcr amothers.
