For boneless turkey breast roast in a netting, am I better off with a dry spice rub, or a marinade?

When I do a spice rub, it is not dry - I mix the spice rub with a little oil, or oil the roast and then rub on the spice....otherwise it will not stick and absorb well, and will be too dry.
I haven't made a turkey roast ever, but I did a spice rub with oil on a whole turkey many times. Yum!

I havent used netting, but I often make boneless turkey breast for Shabbos by sprinkling lots of herbs and spices over the top, and then drizzling with lots of olive oil. Comes out great.
Garlic powder, oregano, thyme, sweet paprika
a little ground cloves
salt and pepper
