When it is still hot and plugged in, I wash it down with a soaking wet towel papers & then I wipe it with dry towel papers, while still hot. If it needs a good scrubbing, I use a sponge.

I broke mine by running it under the water..
Seems everyone says they don’t really wash it- just wipe down
Mine got dirty/greasy even with parchment paper so I really wanted to wash it sometimes

I wonder the same. I’ve used so many paper towels, and they still come off black.
I think the reason it’s so quick and easy to use, is because we’re basically skipping the step of washing the pan! So of course it’s faster and easier than a frying pan!

It’s probably burnt oil ..
The black paper towels were bothering me so much, that’s why I held it under running water-
