I would have thought the supermarkets get fresh produce every day , maybe not Sundays and probably not bank holidays. Monday may also be not fresh if the markets are closed on sunday. Fish wouldn’t be fresh on a Monday.

Every store does not get everytibg fresh every single day. And even if they did, if you make an online order the packer may give you older stuff. new stuff has to be unpacked and put out and who says that's done before the start of the business day?
