While brushing my two yr old sons hair the last few days I noticed that tons of hair are falling out. As he was wearing his costume yesterday I saw his costume was covered in hair. It was never like this. What can this mean?

Most common cause is nutritional deficiency but can be other things too.

I would take him to the doctor, not try to treat with shampoo.

It may be Alopecia please check with your pediatrician as soon as you can.

You have to do bloodwork. He might be missing something vital that you can supplement, or it might be an absorption issue. Do you have mold anywhere in your house?

I wanted to update you guys.. so I took my child to the pediatrician today. My pediatrician didn't want to do bloodwork today because my child is under the weather and that can create false highs and lows... his hemoglobin levels tho were tested and it came back low.. so my pediatrician told me to give my child a multi with iron every day. Hopefully once my child's iron levels normalize this should improve as well with hashems help!! Anyone ever heard of hair falling out due to low iron? My pediatrician said it's very likely this is why it's happening.

bh I started giving my son iron supplements and bh I'm already seeing a difference. Much less hair loss bh
