Hi I am looking to go into a new field of work... I was always in education but I feel like I need something new. I was thinking about going into interior design, it has been something I have always appreciated. Has anyone done this? what schooling did they do? where do they work? and where can you find a job? I am in the New York area. Thanks in advance!

I took Art Institute of Pittsburgh's residential planning course a few years back. Now TTI has their own course as well as Design Alive. You need to take some sort of course to learn the basic CAD programs and terminology. Follow some famous designers on Instagram and spend some time reading about design and noticing the details. Most of this comes with experience. You'll need to take the course, get a job in a design firm starting at the bottom, and if you're good you will work your way up quick until you feel ready to go out on your own.
