Anyone know of salons around lakewood that have a private area for haircuts? I used to use haircuttery but they closed down. Not looking for a frum place. TIA!

I walked into a random place in main Street - Don't remember which one, it was two different ones - and told them I want to private and they had a room upstairs or in the back.

Elisheva has a private room and does hair color. I go there and she’s great

I don't think elisheva is around anymore... in any case, I can't go somewhere frum. I don't feel comfortable with the judgment and weird looks I get for certain hairstyles and colors I choose. Plus it's PRICEY.

She is around. She moved to 814 River Ave.
I never found her to be judgmental. She doesn’t comment about people’s hair loss, hair style or color. It’s very hard get a recommendation for a non Jewish place when you’re asking about a very Jewish neighborhood with so many Jewish owned businesses. Even if you find a place that does a good job there’s no guarantee that a male employee won’t walk into the “private” room to get something since they don’t understand our standards of modesty.

Do you know around what elisheva charges for a cut and color? I've never had an issue where a non Jewish place did not respect my privacy. They get a lot of Muslims too and understand that nobody can walk in.

It’s not a fortune. I did hair color recently, eyebrow wax and color, lip wax, wig washed and I think the total was about $150 for everything. Call and ask for a price for haircut and color.
