What size would you order for a kid with a larger than average head, like 75th percentile. My priority is staying on more than looking cute, is bigger better? I’m just so torn between a 2 and a 3.

Not 2. Honestly don't know why they make that size. I got a 2 because I really wanted a matching pattern for our theme, and he still wears it a few months later (big kid wearing 3-4T in general) but it's too small.

Yep same. For a bigger kid start with 3.

This is so funny, I must be the odd man out bc I started with size 1, but I can only order that online. Just now that my son is 4, are they starting to look small.

When he did wear his one size 2, my sister actually asked me why his yamulka is so big…

Really depends on the size of the head. Have you cut his hair yet? If not I’d buy one piece in each size and see which one looks better after he gets his haircut.

I started my kids on ikippah size 2, that was fine. But if he has a big head go with a 3. Also, don’t buy a lot yet, get 2 or 3 cute ones so if it doesn’t work you don’t feel like you’ve completely wasted the money…

My son is in a 1. Was hard to tell before upsherin. We got 2 2s and then ended up needing to get 1s afterwards. So hard since hardly any store carries 1s.

My sons have huge heads. I bought 3s and were great.

Keep in mind that people like different sizes and the appropriate size (how large or small) is very community dependent. My nephew who lives in a different community but has the same size head as my son did a 1.

Also, different materials lay differently on the head. Likewise for brands. Best to try some on in the store to see what works for you.

I find that depending on how thick or curly hair is before an upsherin can also affect how easy it is to figure out sizing. With hair, most little kids will be about a half size bigger.

The custom shop told me size 2 for upsherin boys but I got 3. Size 2 is for a small boy and small head. 3 is good for my son.
