Hi. I like to do an overnight on chol hamoed. I usually travel about 4 hours somewhere. I’m wondering why don’t I just go to monsey. It’s close by from Brooklyn. Can I book a hotel there? What’s some fun ideas to do? I have younger ones as well as teens.

We did it once. Stayed in Sheraton Mahwah. Went to the free zoo at Bear Mountain. Went to West Point. The main problem is that it might be cold over Pesach so it’s less fun to be outside. The hotel has a pool so that was cool. I wouldn’t do it again because there just isn’t a ton to do there.

No cool museums in the area that I know of. Monsey isn't really a hot spot of attractions.

Stony Point Battlefield is cool if you like history. It was very hands on when we went, but check before you go what they have now.
In general, if you like history and hiking, you can find things to do besides the Palisades Mall. There are also farms. Boating is nice, too.
