Correct. Only card or cash.
Theyre pretty much a third of the regular store at my corner

So most people don't want to have to pay with a wad of cash. So maybe I'd go in there to pick up a few items, but if you don't have EBT, you're not going to do a full shopping there.

Totally hear that

We can easily afford to comfortably shop wherever.

But for us it's important not to overspend the large percentage of the difference, so we make sure we have cash (or check).

I've told a couple of people about their prices and they've told me that they were hooked after going once and seeing the tremendous difference.

It's a matter of priority...

They’re products very often have short expiration dates - for people that use a lot it’s worth it … for people that don’t it might not necessarily be worth it.

I just went to a store and they were charging over $4 for half a gallon of milk and $8 for a gallon (NOT CY) pray tell, how are they NOT making money?

CY milk is under $4 a bottle.

Really it depends.

For produce, meat and fish there can be a tremendous difference in quality between stores.

Baked goods are also a food in which generally higher priced means better quality.

For processed and canned foods, of course one would buy the least expensive option unless there is some overriding reason that one has to purchase - I.e need a specific can of tomatoes and so you buy at the nearest little store.

Service is very important to me, as is a nice shopping experience with helpful staff, wide enough aisles, good produce, big selection, quick delivery etc.

Shopping at a small local store saves $$$, there isn't this huge selection of everything tempting you to buy. Just follow the list & done. Bingo & other discount stores try to get you to buy things you haven't planned.

service means a lot to me. Rosner's may be cheap, but it's difficult to shop when you can barely maneuver a wagon. And I don't always go to the bank on my way to the grocery. Bingo, I'm not packing and shlepping my own bags/boxes to the car and then from the car again. My local Gourmet Glatt brings my order straight to my kitchen. I'm a loyal gourmet glatt shopper. And I don't live next door.

Dh and I went to bingos, we said never again. It took ages to park in the parking lot, the place was a zoo, and all to save... $100? Maybe $200? He said I'd rather pay a premium and save time at the local expensive store.

Speaking of, the local expensive store (not on your list) makes a killing off of their catered foods. It's on my corner and I'm in there at all hours and days, I'm talking like up until the minute they closed on erev purim, seeing all the behind the scenes - they make platters, they send huge deliveries, they have huge takeout. The groceries barely move compared to the deli they're sending. And the amount of deliveries. I'm like the only person who shops in store.
