do you use it for anything other than rainy weather? is it useful? it looks so chic and smart but I'll practical enough to only buy one if I'll use it. I'm curious if it comes to good use.

Trench coats are a style and come in all fabrics including wool. The camel hair trench is classic.

The Burberry style with the removable lining is pretty practical. My friend had an old mink made into a lining for a storm coat which is great for multiple seasons because you can wear in Fall without the lining.

Years ago I had a shiny black thin trench which was perfect for Los Angeles rain because I didn’t need something warm but inky something water repellent.

I wear it as a spring jacket. Looks very smart with classic professional attire.
I love a double breated knee length wool coat as well.

I have a winter trench coat I've been considering purchasing a smart summer beige trench. Can it be worn both shabbos and weekday?

As I posted, trench coat is a style and comes in many fabrics. There are trench coats which are "storm" coats and very water repellent.

I know
I own a trench coat in form of a rain coat, a sheepskin coat and a regular trench coat.
I am a trench coat aficionado 😅

That being said, I don’t like a trench with the hood. My rain coat has a hood and is designed as a trench, but I don’t wear it for style purposes.
If I want it to be **stylish** then I wear a regular trench coat but then it should be nice dry fall weather.

Trench coats are usually timeless and can last for years. I can't answer you if you are worried about space in your closet, but you can definitely make a lot of use for one.

zara has a bunch at decent prices. I can't decide if I'll enjoy one. I'm not tall. I feel like it's made for super chic, tall people.

Also if you wear mostly maxi skirts it won’t look good. I think it only looks good with short skirts and dresses (and pants or course)

I agree. There is the rule of thirds (not sure the exact term) and the trench coat with the maxi cuts it all wrong.
