My relative is in town unexpectedly and my family decided to make an impromptu reunion at a pizza shop. I had chicken for lunch but I really don’t want to miss the reunion. Can I order a fish plate or salad?

You have to ask them. I was at j2 with family from out of town and I was fleishig and I asked what’s parve. They said the French fries are milchigs and thecalzones. I think I had soup and sushi

If theres onions or garlic in the salad that was cut with a knife used for dairy that's a problem.

This is just one example of a bunch of possibilities.

Have a bottle of water. You can still enjoy the company.

Are you sure about that? I believe it can't be eaten with meat but it doesn't make you milchigs.

I learned that garlic or onion cut with a milchig knife has the same status as actual milchigs.

Some pizza stores use milk in their dough.

Ask the mashgiach at the store, that's what they're there for.

As for the poster about j2 fries, they have a separate frier for allergies. You can request dairy free fries from there.

. Given that pizza is generally covered with cheese, and cheeseless pizza is baked in the same oven, the status of the dough is immaterial. The pizza or calzone or anything they heat in the pizza oven is going to be incontrovertibly milchik.

It has the same status as something cooked in a milchig pot.
But I'm pretty sure that in the 6 hours, you are allowed to eat food that was cooked in a clean milchig pot.

When someone says a milchig onion, as in cut with milchig knife, it doesn't mean the onion is actual milchigs. It's jusy dairy equipment. Meaning you can have it when you're still fleishig, but you can't have it with actual fleishigs.

I know stores that have cheeseless pizza on milchig dough. They don't call it dairy free.
Everyone needs to ask at their specific establishment if they're looking for parve or dairy free.

You are assuming they are making sure that the knife was cleaned in between dishes and there's no actual cheese on it, and when preparing the salad they made sure to wash their hands and make it not around the cheese. I'm sure people can have cheese in their salad so I'm sure it's nearby and on hand and wouldn't ve surprised if Small peices of shredded cheese made it's way around
