Typing a report for dd. Teacher requested the report should be done on Microsoft Word. We don’t have word on this computer because we didn’t want to buy it. She’s requesting a certain font that wordpad doesn’t have but I found something similar.
The layout is just not the same on wordpad. I printed the report but it doesn’t look right.
How can I get it on word format when I don’t have word on my computer?
(Yes, am an older mom who isn’t very tech savvy..)

Wordpad does not have all the features Word has. There are other options, such as LibreOffice.

LibreOffice download page:
https://www.libreoffice.org/do.....fice/

OpenOffice download page:
https://www.openoffice.org/dow......html

LibreOffice is more modernized and is compatible with the commonly used file formats, while OpenOffice hasn't really been updated in years and is a good option for people who are more familiar with older software.

Libre Office 100% -- and it's free! Almost same as Microsoft.

Google Docs. Very easy to use and no download needed.

To open a new doc in google docs you can type doc.new into your address bar. It’s a shortcut that will create a new document.

But I recommend you use libre office if you want it to look like a word doc.

Oh gosh! That sounds beyond tempting!
I sat with this report for a few hours today… my head is splitting. I’ll go back to the computer soon and see what I can do before I take advantage- thanks!
