After 3 boys I had two girls and my older one is 4 with beautiful curls. I would say her hair really started to grow in the past year. Washing her hair has become torturous. I have conditioner, shampoo, detangle spray. What's your hair washing schedule and routine to prevent knots? Ill take any tips anyone has to make this less stressful. Thanks!

There is a shampoo called tail and mane.

I heard it is good for curly, knotty hair.

DO NOT brush the hair unless wet (right after a bath). Conditioner--lots.
I use detangler spray and brush with a brush called "Wet Brush"

How long is it? Is it an option to trim a couple inches? Might be more manageable that way

I use this brush. It’s great for getting out the knots

What everyone else said. Also, start brushing the hair from the bottom and move your way upwards slowly.

Look up plopping, pinappling hair before bed, the curly girl method, using cotton tshirt/microfiber towels on hair and never regular towels. Silk scrunchies. No ponytails.

You have to stay committed to the detangling and conditioning or it just gets worse. Both my daughter and I have the same hair. I wash three times a week with pantene for dry hair or curls and condition with dry hair conditioner. I use John Frieda Frizz Ease as a detangling spray, a wide tooth comb, and leave in conditioner from Kerastase (dime sized blob). John Frieda also makes a much less expensive leave in conditioner. I do not believe in brushing (think it rips my hair) and let hair air dry in a loose scrunchy after gently towel drying. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix.

This is a great conditioner. I use it on my girls and it detangles really well. https://amzn.to/41B5bJJ
