I used Jleagues and my 5.5 year old taught himself in 1 lesson, but had another one for reinforcement.

I buy my kids balance bikes and they learn on their own

What worked for me was to get my kids a balance bike like this https://amzn.to/43hZula or take pedals off a regular bike and they really learned on their own. You can youtube this method as well.

We did the drops for approx 5 minutes. Actually, my then 9yo daughter did it with him while I locked up the shed. By the time I turned around he was biking! It wasn't perfect but everything else came with practice...
