Her mother in law?
Looking for a "thing" to send to another country.
Not looking for gift certificates/ night nurse/ babysitter.
Not looking for a gift for the baby.
Specifically, a gift for the mother.
Can't wait to read your replies.

My mil got me robes, slippers, and a really nice necklace.

All were appreciated, but especially the necklace Very Happy

She also offered to pay for an outfit for the bris, she ended up getting me some makeup so I could get ready the way I wanted.

Sorry to hear! I think it's an extra nice thing but not necessarily something everyone does. I definitely didn't get anything from my MIL or even my mother, or even DH. My parents and in laws probably got us a stretchy or two.

Why? She doesn't have to give you anything.

My parents give nothing. My mother offered to make the bris if I pay for it, and I was grateful to her for taking the job off my hands.
My MIL gifts a stroller and a fancy baby outfit but not anything for me myself, which is fine. I'm happy with the things she does get.

For myself, I either buy it myself or ask DH to.
