Single mom, MO, I need grass and trees and at least some privacy, so preferably a single home or townhome, but reasonably priced.
I’ve been recommended to look into the areas surrounding monsey. I prefer a mixed community and not exclusively MO which is what I like about monsey. I need MO chassidish yeshivish, the whole mix. but I heard the MO community is getting smaller and smaller. Will I feel out of place?
What about Staten Island? Heard some nice things about that community too, but then again, is it getting too chassidish? Will I feel out of place?
Any other suggestions near monsey or Brooklyn?

Where are you coming from and how much is reasonable?
Staten Island isn't very green at all.
Do you need to be in the NY area? How are Teaneck and Fair Lawn as options?

NY is preferable for me.
But what about Teaneck and fair lawn? Are they mixed communities as well?

Neither has Chassidim, but parts of Teaneck have a yeshivish lite vibe. And you're half an hour to Monsey.

Teaneck and Fair Lawn are great as mixed communities. No chassidish as far as I know but there’s a huge mix of modern orthodox families from covering hair and tights to bathing suits at the beach. (Just based on outer appearances)

Sounds pretty good.
Is monsey not a good fit at all?

Unfortunately I don’t know monsey as well. I know chassidish people and regular JPF people there but idk where they’re located or who fits in there. Hopefully others can guide you

Are you familiar with KGH?
Not much in the way of yards but parks aren't too far.
What I love about the community is it's a huge mix, has something for everyone.
Hatzlocha.

Staten island is really nice lots of different types of people super close to lots of areas... chasidish/ modern chasidish the whole mix similar to monsey. I'd say lakewood outskirts has that too, some in five towns or marine park Flatbush too
The other NJ communities are more YU or the schools/ RW MO isn't that type very different mindset/hashkafa if ur not used to it.
We're happy in monsey heimish family chasidish style but watch TV etc.. lots of people like that here
