Expired car seat trade in?

I know Target had a program but I think it was just for a month or so and I missed it. But just now someone handed down to me a car seat that I'm pretty sure is expired and I wouldn't mind getting some credit for it instead of straight to the garbage. Is there somewhere else to trade it in or at least recycle or something?
