Does 3G phone work in Israel?

For seminary, they are giving a choice of 2 basic phones. one works with only 3g networks and one with 3g and 4g.
Obviously the 4g one is more expensive.
Can someone tell me if its necessary? What the difference actually means?

4G has better reception.
Assuming these are kosher phones, there is no other difference.
3G will be canceled starting 2026
