I've had the Bosch for many years.
I never loved it.
It's not easy to clean.
The cover needs to be held down, when mixing a heavy dough.
The rubber piece on bottom of metal bowl kept ripping.

Time to replace mine.
Any other machine that works better? For even bigger doughs, like 10 lbs.?

Hatzlacha. Honestly, the best machine is my hands. I knead by hand and the challos are wonderful.

Not everyone has that type of energy in the hands. My Bosch once broke down mid mixing and I had to finish kneading by hand. I had a very hard time and it still wasn’t perfectly well kneaded after working on it a while. For me and many others only a machine will do. Op, I don’t think there’s anything as strong as the Bosch out there.

I used to do by hand. Texture is much better with machine...
How does Nutrimill compare?

My mother has the magic mill for many years and it works great. Dough comes out cleanly from bowl barely have to wash it after. Not sure if it would handle a very large amount though. Her recipe is for 6lbs

I can’t view the YouTube but I believe you’re talking about the magic mill. I liked it but it was a pain to wash and had a million moving pieces.
I’m much happier with my Bosch.

Magic Mill and Ankarsrum are different names for the same product. In the USA it's called Magic Mill.

Yeah, I'm sure the Bosch is great. I love letting my KitchenAid knead pizza dough.
I guess I'm blessed to have the koach, bH. Otherwise, maybe knead in 2 batches in my KA?

My only tip: Do thorough research.
We know that appliances a decade or two ago have more quality than today's appliances.

What rubber piece? I have my bosch for 8 years and I have no idea what you're talking about.
I don't put in more than a kilo of flour at a time, though. More than that you would need an industrial mixer.
And with that amount the cover is fine too.

I don't have a lot of energy but I still find it takes less energy to knead by hand then to take out a machine, wash the parts, spray down the outside, put it away. I just have one bowl to wash when I do it by hand.

You must have had a really old machine. 25 years ago my friends mom had one that needed to be held down. Since then the Bosch is made different. I have mine for 18 years. There is no rubber piece.

My mother's Bosch also had to be held down but the new ones don't.
Also not sure what rubber piece you mean... Mine is easy to clean

I have a Bosch— an older one with the cover having to be held down so I don’t love it.
For a while I was kneading by hand and discovered this tip. I used my cheap hand mixer to mix all the ingredients including 3 cups of flour. Once it was mixed and looked like a thick cake batter, I then slowly added the rest of the flour and only started mixing by hand by the fourth cup.

Is it harder because of more pieces? Bosch has grooves and hard-to-get-to places. I want something I can take apart easily.

What bowl were you using that it had grooves? The white one?
The stainless steel bowl with the hook that attaches to the bottom (not with a cylinder in the middle) has no grooves anywhere.

If I wash it right away before any bits of dough dries it's a breeze.
I've replaced the rubber gasket around the base only twice over the 18+ years I have the machine. I don't take apart the white plastic ring on the bottom every time I wash it, only when I needed to change the rubber.

How many lbs of flour are you using that you need to hold down the machine? I use 5lbs without issues.
