I am sure some bochurim will ask r'asher. But really there is the secretary whom they can ask or I'm sure if they walk in to meuchedet they will tell him what to do.
I doubt mir doesnt have that organized

My son is also in Israel. Not in the Mir, but another well known yeshiva. They gave him the information about meuchedet before yeshiva started, but he was on his own to sign up. It took 3 tries because he has severe food allergies and asthma. They considered those pre-existing conditions and don't cover pre-existing conditions. They needed documentation from our American doctors and then permission from me stating they won't cover the pre-existing stuff. That's why it took 3 tries. Most of the other boys got their cards right away. We wanted coverage anyway for anything else--just in case.

BH I have insurance in the USA that will cover some (not everything) overseas, so he's covered for asthma and food allergies if necessary. But meuchedet is easier for everything else.

It's not expensive. I think it was 40something a month, but you have to pay 6 months up front.

He finally went to the office and got it done. I paid 200 something I think so yes it makes sense.

Bh he has insurance and he is feeling better.
