I’m very short- 5 ft
And 140 lbs
The only thing I can wear that I feel is hiding my access weight in a straight black skirt- same style that older women might wear.
I wear the same black skirt ALL the time..
Can you please help me find a weekday dress and a shabbos dress that will hide my stomach and thighs… is that even possible?
I feel so hopeless. I’ve been shopping and shopping and can’t find anything.

Why hide? Show off those curves!

My relative wears a long jacket style for simchos and looks great.
Long cardigans/sweater for weekday
I don't know if it's hot for summer though

I’m 5ft and 150 pounds and carry my weight on my stomach, butt and thighs. But I look great. I wear things to accentuate my waist. Belts, high waisted skirts, dresses sinched at the waist etc.

I have never understood the idea of trying to make yourself look smaller than you are Vs embracing the size you are.
I had a friend who went to an exclusive bridal shop and was told to try on a dress that would make her “look slimmer” in it. She walked out of the shop saying “I don’t want to look slimmer. I am voluptuous and my fiancé likes me that way.” She then found her perfect dress in a cheap bridal shop that helped her find what she needed. She was delighted. And since then, I have always remembered this. Her and her DH are still happily married 20 years later.

I can. But my point is that I probably carry my weight differently from you. You need to accentuate the smaller parts of your body. What body shape do you have? I am a hourglass.

Im just under 5 ft and I weight 190 pounds. I have never found anything that can hide my weight. I know I am overweight (mostly in my stomach and chest) and so I find thing that I feel good in instead. I have taken to wearing a line type dressed that are just below my knee. And that is all I wear.

Watch this. https://youtu.be/l02Z7svcLaE
You basically need to add volume to the shoulder. Puff sleeves, frills on top ect.
Avoid pencil skirts and go for A-line and flowy skirts. Wear high waisted skirts.
Avoid straight dresses. Look for wrap dresses and waisted.

I would try this site. Rivky is a trained couture seamstress who has a size inclusive line up to size 22 I think. She is very into dressing for your body shape vs your size.
These are the recommendations for pear shapes which she calls triangle.

Eta these are pricey I don't know your budget but for a nice dress you feel good in for shabbos and simchos it may be worth it

I am about the same size as you and I find that dresses look much better on me than shirt and skirt unless the shirts are more cropped. I would definitely work on just embracing your curves. And fwiw I think I look great (after having several kids) and don't think I look so overweight. So it's probably mostly just you that thinks you look heavy.
