While we do have assets and I can not chv call myself poor we are in a very tight spot now.
Maxed out credit cards, not much money coming in, and bank accounts really low.

This is the first time bh that I need to deal with this, and every time I get a call from a camp , school, store etc for money it really takes a toll.

It keeps me up at night and is really eating at me.
Dh keeps saying not to worry, and tries to keep me out of it fully, but it’s just not my personality….

I know that many people are in my position and I just want to know what their coping mechanisms are….

I know emunah is key.

But how do you respond to such calls etc when you really don’t know from where to take the money to pay….

We took out a loan with a repayment plan we can handle so that we can focus on just keeping the money flowing where it's needed and not stress out. It's slightly better rates than maxed out credit cards even

Usually I try to avoid the calls. Don't pick up unless I know the caller.

Bitachon is the key, as you already know. It's work, it's not easy, but it's the answer.

When I'm in a better place, I am able to apologize to the caller that I don't have money to pay them right now but I am working on taking care of it ASAP.

I have a list of all of my debts so I don't forget them.

Can you get another job, sell somethings on craigslist or ebay, stop spending at all on anything except food and absolute necessities for the next few weeks. Spend less on food by eating vegetarian except shobbos. Then pay off your smallest debt first with the money you saved/earned.
It sounds really tough, I can hear the desperation in your post. I hope you are able to pull your way out of this soon.

Op, you say you have assets. What type of assets are you referring to that it's worth it to hold onto it and pay high credit card interest?

Thanks that’s a wonderful poem!
My cc are mostly without interest.
I would still not break an asset to pay the ones with interest , since long term I’m not sure it’s worth it. But when push comes to shove we will…
